5T manages the Traffic Operation Centre in the Metropolitan area of Torino integrated with the Public Transport real-time Monitoring System, in order to obtain smoother traffic and to improve the performance of Public Transport.
5T is a key player in the implementation of the Regional Info mobility Plan. Thanks to the past experience with the Traffic Operation Centre of the Winter Olympic Games in Torino 2006 (TOC), 5T is managing the extension of the traffic monitoring and information system to the whole regional territory; 5T is also coordinating the BIP project (Biglietto Integrato Piemonte – Piedmont Integrated Ticket) that will introduce a single contactless ticket for the purchase of any mobility service in Piedmont.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
5T operates the Turin traffic control and will represent public Authorities and traffic control centre operators inside the project. 5T will mainly support the definition of data exchange agreements among partners (WP1), data standardisation (WP2) and test site experimentation (WP6).
WP1 - Participation to definition of new data use and contractual agreements
WP2 - Contribution in definition of data standardization for multimodal mobility and integration with personal devices
WP6 - Support the coordination of experimentation among test sites
WP8 - Participation to dissemination activities
WP9 - Participation to project management activities
WP10 - Participation to technical coordination activities.
5T due to its “public” partnership and its long experience in developing and operating the Turin traffic control will represents public Authorities and traffic control centre operators needs and constraints in Wp1 and Wp2. The Turin test site will be mainly based on data coming from the 5T control centre.
