The VeDeCoM Institute is one of the newly created IEED (institutes of excellence in carbon-free energy) within the French Government "Investissements d'Avenir" programme. It is supported by the Mov'eo Competitiveness Cluster and involves 45 partners from different fields of activities: automotive (car manufacturers, tier one, SMEs), aeronautics, utilities, infrastructures, mobility operators, research institutes, and local community organizations).
Role in the project
In the OPTICITIES project, we will be mainly involved in the continuity of service between a Regional Multimodal Database, an Urban mobility application running in real time on a smartphone and an On-board car navigation systems on which we will present in an ergonomic way this multimodal information. We will be assist in these tasks mainly by Renault ,Peugeot and their ITS suppliers for the In-car environment, a sub-contractor Aurige for the standardization issues , Telecom Paristech Engineer school to secure the communications between the smartphone and the car ,and the laboratory IFSTTAR /GRETTIA with its Claire Siti platform interconnected to OPTICITIES Grand Lyon for the development of a test bench.

Our most important tasks will be to contribute actively to:
- the specifications of the multimodal urban mobility database model
- the development of communication interfaces between smartphone and In-Car System
- and the end-user acceptances evaluation with Peugeot and Renault prototype vehicles in Lyon.
