Beginning of October 2014 the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities launched 6 Action Clusters aiming to link energy, transport and ICT in the urban context. These Action Clusters will gather stakeholders who committed to work on specific issues, sharing forecasts and experiences to support the implementation of an EU vision on Smart Cities.

Supporting a truly inclusive vision of sustainable urban mobility, the development of public/private partnerships and the experimentation of significant breakthroughs in the domain of urban ITS, OPTICITIES committed to share knowledge in the frame of the “Sustainable Urban Transport” Action Cluster.

OPTICITIES activities are focused on three key approaches: effectiveness, scalability and transferability. Public results from ‘Data creation and use’ and ‘Open ITS System’ work packages will be the first contributions to the Cluster’s Actions.

A dedicated OPTICITIES Stakeholder Forum will be set up opening the Project to urban mobility Stakeholders aiming to:

  • Engage cities, public transport authorities, companies and interested parties, who are not part of the OPTICITIES consortium, in exchanging information and experience with the OPTICITIES project partners;
  • Accelerate the mass deployment of OPTICITIES outcomes.
