Wroclaw

Wrocław is the one of the biggest and modern cities in Poland. As a capital city of Lower Silesian Voivodeship, a province on the southern west part of Poland, it performs a function of education, technology and business centre of the region.  The Municipality of Wroclaw is a city council authority which basically deals with all fields linked with citizens’ life. The Municipality is responsible for  carrying  out  the  support  of  current residents  and  for  planning  and  developing  the  city.  The  office  is  in  charge  of  housing, transportation (private cars, public transport, bikes, car parks), waste policy and city maintenance. They are policy-makers responsible for budget planning for next years. 

Wrocław is skirted on the south by the A4 motorway, which allows for a quick connection with Upper Silesia, Kraków, further east to Ukraine, and Dresden and Berlin to the west. The A8 motorway (Wrocław ring road) around the west and north of the city connects the A4 motorway with the National road 5 that leads to Poznań, Bydgoszcz and S8 express road that leads to Warsaw. Under construction is the eastern part of the ring road. The city has an International Airport supported by Ryanair, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, LOT and others. In the city centre there is also located the renovated historical main railway station Wrocław Główny.

The City of Wroclaw will work on systems of processing data collection by devices located on the road infrastructure of the city.

Key contributions

The City of Wroclaw will work on systems of processing data collection by devices located on the road infrastructure of the city. Data integration will be one of the impacts for traffic management with more functionality. The City of Wroclaw will be responsible for integrating the Open ITS system with data collected in freight management system.
